Ms. Acevedo is certified as a specialist in family law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. This designation is earned through focused practice of law, in-depth continuing education, passing a rigorous written exam and evaluations from judges and other attorneys who practice in the same area of law. Acevedo Family Law APC was founded to provide personalized attention and strong advocacy to clients through what is often the most difficult time of their life. Gisela truly listens to her clients to formulate a strategic and personalized plan for their cases. Her family law practice covers the full spectrum, including contested divorce, custody and visitation, child support, paternity, stepparent adoptions, surrogacy agreements, domestic violence restraining orders and post-judgment modifications and enforcement.
She has also developed specialized skills and has experience representing clients during child welfare services interviews and investigations, drafting agreements for pro se litigants, litigating move-away cases (both domestic and international), and family law mediation.
